Mullen Automotive has made a significant move in strengthening its battery production capabilities by acquiring battery line equipment from Nikola for its Fullerton, California facility. This facility is focused on developing next-generation, American-made battery packs, modules, and solid-state polymer technology.
This acquisition follows Mullen’s 2023 purchase of battery production assets from Nikola’s Romeo Power, which included equipment, inventory, and intellectual property for high-volume EV battery manufacturing.

The newly acquired Nikola assets include:
✅ A high-volume battery production line for standard battery chemistry.
✅ An electrodynamic shaker system (vibration table) for in-house battery testing.
Mullen’s Expanded Battery Production & Testing Capabilities
With these latest additions, Mullen’s Fullerton battery facility will feature:
🔋 Two high-volume standard battery chemistry production lines.
🔬 High-precision, low-volume R&D lines for both standard battery chemistry and solid-state polymers.
🧪 A full battery testing laboratory to support current and future projects.
“We continue to execute our plan of transitioning to American-made battery components, and we are doing it right here in Southern California,” said David Michery, CEO and Chairman of Mullen Automotive.
This strategic investment further cements Mullen’s commitment to domestic battery production and innovation in the growing EV market. 🚗⚡
