Even though the former president was wounded in a shooting at a campaign rally minutes earlier, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, endorsed Donald Trump on Saturday.
Musk posted a video of President Trump being removed from the podium by Secret Service personnel alongside his remarks, writing, “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery” on his social media site X.
In a subsequent post, Musk continued, “Theodore Roosevelt was the last time America had a candidate this tough.”
In response to one individual’s request for protection following the incident, Musk said that he had been the target of two separate assassination attempts in the previous eight months. He went on to say that two individuals were apprehended near Tesla’s headquarters in Austin, Texas, armed with firearms.
Although the exact amount of Musk’s donation remains unknown, sources informed Bloomberg on Friday that he had contributed to America PAC, a super PAC actively supporting Trump’s election.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg reports that Trump recently met with hedge fund billionaires Paul Singer and Ken Griffin to discuss donations to Trump’s campaign.

Trump Addressing the Gathering
As Trump was delivering an address to a gathering in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday night in anticipation of Monday’s Republican National Convention, the shooting occurred.
As soon as Trump heard the gunshots, his security detail surrounded him, and the footage revealed that he clutched his ear. There was a video of him with blood on his face as they escorted him away.
Mayor Eric Adams of New York City announced that specific locations, such as Trump Tower, the Trump Building at 40 Wall Street, Foley Square, and City Hall, will be reinforced by the police force.
Trump fired at the rally, according to political risk expert Ian Bremmer of Eurasia Group, who tweeted the news. Our democracy is in a state of peril.
“Political violence was abhorrent and completely unjustified on January 6,” he later added. On July 13, it is just as heinous and totally without cause.
Legislators from both parties were relieved that Trump was safe and denounced political violence.
Praying for him, his family, and everyone at the event as we await further details, President Joe Biden stated in a statement.
