Billboard and TikTok have come up with the TikTok Billboard Top 50 list, which will track the most popular songs on the app in the U.S. every week. The chart is on Billboard.com and available to U.S. TikTok users.
The TikTok Billboard Top 50 is the first list to track how popular music is on the video-sharing site. The chart is based on how much the U.S. TikTok community makes, watches videos, and interacts with each other. It will be released every Thursday starting today.
This week’s inaugural TikTok Billboard Top 50 has Sexyy Red’s “SkeeYee” at No. 1. Becomes the first artist to top the charts. Three more Sexxy Red songs are on this week’s list. This week’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 “Paint the Town Red” by Doja Cat is No. 2 on the first TikTok Billboard Top 50. Taylor Swift’s folk tune “August” hits No. 3.
“TikTok is already the world’s most powerful platform for finding and promoting music,” said Ole Obermann, global head of music business development at TikTok. “Each week, our passionate community of music fans pushes songs onto the Billboard charts.” “It made perfect sense to work with Billboard to make the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart because of this.” The data displays exactly which TikTok tracks are trending on DSPs and other sites.

Billboard President Mike Van Excited About New Chart
In addition to the top three contemporary songs on the new chart, the top five Hot 100 hit from 1982 by Dazz Band, “Let It Whip,” lands in the top 10 of the first TikTok Billboard Top 50, along with songs by country artists Zach Bryan and Tim McGraw, R&B legend Charlie Wilson, and emo band Pinegrove.
Mike Van, the president of Billboard, said, “We are thrilled to work together on the first Billboard chart on TikTok.” “At Billboard, our charts are always changing to mirror how fans listen to music and bring them closer to the artists they like. We see a clear chance to recognize how music discovery on TikTok is changing popular culture, and we’re happy to offer this tool to the industry. It gives brands a new way to connect with music fans on a large scale. You’re not number one until Billboard says you are.”
Sexyy Red, for her part, would like to thank her fans for “running my music up!”
Sexyy Red said, “I’m so happy that so many of my songs are on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 chart.” “I’ve always known I’d be a No. 1 kind of artist, so I’d like to thank all my fans for making my music popular! “On TikTok, I’m just being myself, and people love it.”
Larry Jackson’s new entertainment business, gamma, likes Sexyy Red’s number-one song. A rookie rapper is one of the company’s early triumphs since March. Jackson told Billboard, “I’m glad Sexyy Red topped the inaugural TikTok Billboard Top 50. I think this chart, together with the Hot 100 and Billboard 200, will be vital to the music industry.” Also impressive is that four of their tracks are in the top 50 of this new ranking.

Independent Artists Taking on the Modern Music Business with Bravery and Adventure
As a company that helps, supports, and empowers independent artists and creators, we think this is a great sign of what’s to come in this era of independent business thought leaders like Stan and Jay of Sexyy Red’s label, Open Shift, and fiercely independent artists like Sexyy Red, who are taking on the modern music business with bravery and adventure that doesn’t follow the norm or old ways.”
