The LG Smart Cottage, a housing option from LG Electronics, will be shown off at IFA 2023. A small, prefabricated house called the Smart Cottage comes with LG’s latest energy and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) solutions, as well as its smart home products and services. LG Smart Cottage is a new way to live in a house because it combines high-end appliances and useful services with a place built using the newest modular housing technologies and methods.
Designed to be environmentally friendly and in line with LG’s vision of a Better Life for All, the Smart Cottage has a two-story studio-style layout that makes it easy to live in and makes the best use of the room. The modular home has a small footprint but has all the amenities and tools that a person could need. It is also easy to move and set up wherever the homeowner wants. According to a study by ReportLinker, the global market for prefabricated homes will grow at a rate of 4.8% per year from 2023 to 2028, reaching an estimated USD 22.9 billion by 2028.

LG Home Design with Low-Carbon Steel: Gentle, Stable, Refined, and Sustainable
LG’s “gentle, stable, and refined” design and the use of different materials that work well together, like hardwood, tile, and brass, give the area a comfortable, high-end feel. The home’s interchangeable module parts are built from POSCO’s low-carbon steel to reduce its environmental impact.
LG put cutting-edge, energy-efficient kitchen, living, and air solutions in the LG Smart Cottage. These include the WashTower Compact, the QuadWashTM dishwasher, a water purifier, several built-in kitchen appliances, and the Therma VTM Monobloc air-to-water heat pump (AWHP). LG’s energy-saving AWHP can provide a reliable source of hot water by connecting to the 200-liter Integrated Water Tank (IWT). It also keeps your home comfortable all year while using less power than a regular heating and cooling system.
When you go outside, the Smart Cottage has LG technologies that are environmentally friendly and can meet the daily energy needs of up to two people. Four-kilowatt (kW) solar panels mounted on the roof link to the company’s Energy Storage System (ESS) to collect and store solar power safely and reliably on-site. These panels can make up to 15 kW of electricity per day. The ESS can store additional energy for later use or sell it to the contractual electricity source. LG’s modular house comes with an EV charger, so buyers don’t have to install one.

LG ThinQ Smart Home Technology: Easy, Convenient, and Secure
Because LG ThinQ makes everything in this amazing home smart and easy to use, all of the appliances link easily and quickly. With the ThinQ app, users can easily control all of their appliances, handle their whole HVAC system, and see real-time information about how much energy they are using and storing. LG ThinQ also links to the Smart Cottage’s Internet of Things (IoT) accessories, such as cameras, motion sensors, and smart doorbells, which help keep people safe and give them peace of mind.
LG worked with GS Engineering & building Corp (GS E&C), a South Korean company that does building and civil engineering work, for the Smart Cottage.
Lyu Jae-cheol, head of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, said, “The LG Smart Cottage is more than just a prefabricated home. It is an innovative housing solution that supports a sustainable lifestyle through cutting-edge ThinQ connectivity.” “LG wants to change the way people live in their own homes by combining its energy solutions, appliances, and services in a way that lets people live their own lives.”
From September 1 to 5, LG’s stand (Hall 18, Messe Berlin) at IFA 2023 will showcase many new life-improving innovations. These include the LG Smart Cottage.
