Canadian Flex: Ryan Reynolds Invests in Financial Technology

Nuvei Corporation (“Nuvei” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: NVEI) (TSX: NVEI) is a Canadian financial technology firm that announced today that Hollywood actor, director, and entrepreneur Ryan Reynolds has invested in the company.

Reynolds, a well-known serial entrepreneur and investor in high-growth companies, said of the news, “I know about as much about fintech as I did about gin or mobile a few years ago.” Nuvei, though, is quite remarkable. It’s about time a Canadian company received the same level of attention as American tech companies due to the exceptional intelligence and dedication of the company’s leadership.

Less than a month has passed since it was disclosed that Reynolds had invested in Mint Mobile, a low-cost wireless service that had been acquired by T-Mobile US Inc. for USD $1.35bn. American Aviation Gin and Wrexham Football Club are two of Reynolds’ other prominent enterprises.
