RIMAC, IONITY Team up for the Best Electric Mobility Experience

THE CITY OF ZAGREB Together, Rimac Automobili, which makes the world’s fastest all-electric hypercar, and IONITY, which is Europe’s largest open-brand high-power charging (HPC) network, want to push the limits of electric mobility.

The agreement pairs IONITY’s lightning-fast, dependable, and environmentally friendly charging network with the world’s fastest hypercar, the Rimac Nevera. The Nevera is the fastest-accelerating production car in the world and has the highest charging power possible in a passenger vehicle. Only 150 of these cars will be made available. For eight years, owners of the Nevera will be able to charge their cars for free at any IONITY station in 24 European countries.

Mate Rimac is the founder and CEO of the Rimac Group. He said, “When people think of Rimac, they think of the Nevera’s record-breaking performance and the cutting-edge technologies that go into making the company.” The Nevera, on the other hand, was designed to be a hyperGT, not a track car; it is an easy-to-use hypercar. We can take this experience to a whole new level by working with IONITY.

The Nevera has a WLTP* range of 490 km and can be charged at 500kW thanks to a 120kWh lithium manganese nickel battery pack and an engine that Rimac designed and built itself. This amazing piece of tech, along with IONITY’s award-winning Halo charger, which can charge at 350kW, can fully charge a battery from 0% to 80% in just 25 minutes.

“So IONITY’s large charging network is a perfect fit for Rimac.” “IONITY’s HPC technology guarantees a quick and reliable charging experience across Europe, making sure that pit stops are as quick and easy as possible,” Mate Rimac said.

Partnership with Rimac Reflects Shared Values and Commitment to Electric Transport

“Across Europe, IONITY has set the standard for ultra-fast charging and a smooth user experience,” said Michael Hajesch, CEO of IONITY. “Our goal for performance, reliability, and sustainability are perfectly reflected in our partnership with Rimac.” It’s based on shared values and the cutting-edge work we each do to make electric transport possible and move it forward. The IONITY pan-European ultra-fast charging network has more than 500 stations strategically put along Europe’s highways so that people can drive long distances across the continent. All makes of cars can connect to the network, which is always growing with new sites, more charging stations, solar roofs, and services that make charging at home better.

Along with delivering Nevera owners an excellent charging experience when traveling, IONITY will install an HPC charging station at the new Rimac Campus near Zagreb, Croatia. IONITY six-charger hub will be available 24/7 to non-school users. More chargers will be built around campus to boost high-power charging infrastructure. Some of these chargers will be installed later this year to be ready for the 2024 opening of the Rimac Campus.

After the first phase finishes in 2024, the massive 70,000-m2 Rimac Campus production site will become a global hub for Rimac vehicles and parts. The complex will expand to 100,000 m2 including the company’s main office, R&D center, and other facilities. The campus is eco-friendly, carbon-free, and supports 2,500 employees. Visitors can enjoy a Rimac brand experience center, retail space, a restaurant, and events while their automobiles’ batteries charge swiftly using IONITY stations.

The two bands, Rimac and IONITY, are going on a tour across Europe this week to celebrate their work together. The race starts at the Rimac Factory in Zagreb, Croatia, and goes through some of Europe’s best roads to reach the finish line in Saint-Tropez.
