Tesla has broken ground on their long-awaited Supercharger station in Hollywood and has begun building it. This Supercharger station is different, though, because it will be the first to have both a diner and a drive-in theatre.
The idea for this one-of-a-kind Supercharger station has been around for a while. A new Supercharger site will be built in 2021, according to CEO Elon Musk. It would have a diner and a drive-in theatre that look like they belong in the 1950s. At first, Musk said the station would be in Santa Monica. However, it ended up being a little farther east than that.
The exact spot was made public when the company filed plans with the City of Los Angeles in May 2022 to build a diner and 28-stall Supercharger at 7001 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood.

Building Permits Approved, Work Begins on Diner
Things stopped being said about the diner for a while. It wasn’t until August that the City of Los Angeles finally gave the green light to the building permits. After only a few months, work has finally begun on the building.
Ottomate shared a few pictures this week that show the first signs of construction. They show that work is already well underway on the foundation of the diner building. by way of @SERobinsonJr
When it’s done, the diner will have two floors with room for 218 table seats. Sixty of those 218 seats will be on the first floor, inside the diner. The other 23 seats will be outside. On the second floor, most of the seats will be outside (113), with 12 seats inside at a snack bar. There will also be a theatre waiting area with 77 seats on the second floor.
Tesla Plans: Two big 45-foot-tall LED movie screens can be seen from these 77 seats, which give you a better view. From 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., those screens will show short movie clips. The diner is open 24 hours a day.
