Members of the US government have expressed interest in possibly banning TikTok from being accessed across the country on multiple occasions over the past few years.
US officials are concerned that ByteDance, which has ties to the Chinese government through its parent company, is selling user data to China, which could pose a threat to national security.
In the middle of March 2023, the United States issued its most recent threat to ByteDance: sell the app or get banned. Marc D’Amelio is interested in purchasing the app.
For the purpose of purchasing TikTok, Marc D’Amelio is currently assembling a group of investors.
Marc tweeted his desire to acquire the short-form video platform on March 18, 2023.
After saying, “I am putting together a group of investors to pursue the purchase of TikTok,” he explained what he meant.
His tweet has been read over 50,000 times, and he’s received dozens of replies.

We don’t know who his investors are, so we’ll have to wait and see if other celebrities, like his famous daughters Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, are in the mix.
Regarding social media, Charli and Dixie are considered pioneers because they have amassed millions of followers on TikTok in a relatively short time through their many dance trends, songs, and TV appearances.
Only if ByteDance is willing to sell its stakes in the app can its father buy the platform, and those plans haven’t been announced yet.
