Biden says Elon Musk’s connections to other countries ‘worthy of being looked at’
President Joe Biden was asked if he thought the new Twitter Complaint Hotline Operator (aka Elon Musk) was a threat to US national security and if his acquisition of Twitter with help from a Saudi Arabian conglomerate should be investigated by the US government.
“I think that Elon Musk’s cooperation and/or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at,” Biden said. “Whether he is doing anything inappropriate, I’m not suggesting that. I’m suggesting they’re worth being looked at.”
Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is one of the richest Middle East investors, and his investment firm was the second-largest investor in Twitter after Musk’s takeover of the social media platform. Source
Two US senators – Democrat Ron Wyden, who chairs the finance committee, and Chris Murphy of Connecticut – about a week ago called for a “thorough vetting” of the Twitter deal. See the letter
We at 103 pose the question will Elon ban Biden from Twitter?
Well, it’s quite possible in the future. Already Biden has literally given zero praise nor acknowledgement to the guy that started the EV revolution. Instead Biden continue to praises General Motors, a government bailed company out as the new leader of electric vehicles. That’s just crazy talk right there.
Plus if Donald Trump can be banned via old Twitter leadership, then why not Joe Biden under new leadership? Especially if Biden opens up an investigation on Elon Musk. Just saying, things can get out of control from time to time these days. Let’s see what happens next…
The White House said last month that reports the US was discussing launching a national security review of some of Musk’s ventures, including Twitter, were “not true”. But it’s a new month now.
Musk’s purchase of Twitter sparked concerns that he could face pressure from certain countries trying to control freedom of speech online.
Musk is also the CEO of Tesla, and SpaceX, among others. Mr. Musk has previously entered the contentious territory with remarks about Ukraine and Taiwan.
Last month, he denied speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin before launching a Twitter poll with his ideas for ending the war with Ukraine.
Mr. Musk personally informed Ian Bremmer, the head of the Eurasia Group political risk consultancy, about the conversation with Mr. Putin.
“I’ve only spoken with Putin once, about 18 months ago. The topic at hand was space “Mr. Musk posted in a tweet.
Mr. Musk has also spoken out on the contentious issue of China’s relationship with Taiwan.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Tesla’s CEO stated that Taiwan should be designated as a special administrative region.
