Ross Chastain’s NASCAR Overtake Was Straight Out Of A Video Game.
NASCAR driver Ross Chastain single-handedly sparked new interest in the sport after making possibly one of the most ambitious overtakes in NASCAR history.
The overtake happened at NASCAR’s Xfinity 500. Heading into the final corner of the last lap, Chastain needed to jump from the 10th position to the 5th in order to advance to the next round.
Overtaking five cars in a single corner was really an impossible task – so he decided to put the pedal to the metal and head straight for the wall. He then let go of the steering wheel and kept the throttle pinned, sliding around the wall at frightening speeds and somehow overtook all of the cars that he needed to make it to the NASCAR Championship 4.
