Kristen Cullen Bender, SVP of digital innovation strategy and business development at Universal Music Group, says that her team has looked at more than 1,600 startups and worked personally with 300 of them since it was formed.
She told us about the numbers yesterday at our Music Ally Connect meeting, where she was on a panel and also talked about a new project. It’s called UMusicLift and it’s an online hub for leaders of music projects and their startups.
She said, “You’ll find learning tools, news, spotlights, and all sorts of other resources and ways for them to get back into the business.”
Right now, UMusicLift is just a splash page where companies can sign up to be notified when the hub goes live, which is said to be “soon.”
“We try to understand these businesses’ goals and needs, help them learn more about the industry, and help them find their way around our organization and the different rights they need to secure,” SVP of digital innovation strategy and business development at Universal Music Group said.
Tomorrow, when we write about the second day of Music Ally Connect, we’ll have more from the group.
