An affiliate of Mercedes-Benz (MBGn.DE) said on Wednesday that it had teamed up with Starbucks (SBUX.O) to install fast-charging stations at over a hundred sites worldwide.
Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging is revving up a new program to install powerful EV chargers at Starbucks locations along Interstate 5. The program kicks off with stations featuring super-fast 400 kW charging technology, targeting this key West Coast travel corridor stretching from Canada down to Mexico.
The Mercedes-Benz subsidiary invested $1 billion initially, and in 2023 it launched its first charging station.

Twelve sites in the states of Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Kentucky have joined the charging network since its introduction.
By the end of the decade, the network aims to encompass over 10,000 charging sites in key markets such as the US, Europe, and China, and it will have expanded to nearly half of the country’s states within the next 12 to 18 months.
